Due Date with Long Cycles?

Hi y'all. My LMP was 1/5. AF was due 2/8 (35 day cycles). BFP 5 days ago (two days after AF was due) Does the length of my cycle change how far along I am?

Meaning, this Wednesday I am 6 weeks after my LMP. But I'm only one week after my AF was due.

 How far along am I??

Re: Due Date with Long Cycles?

  • It can. I have irregular cycles. Typically I can go from 22-35 days. The cycle I got my BFP must have been a 35 day cycle because I was a week behind what my LMP said.

  • It depends on when you ovulated.  Since you weren't charting, no one here can tell you when you ovulated.  You'll have to wait until your first ultrasound to get a solid due date prediction.
  • I was charting. I choose not to share it with the general population. I ovulated on 1/25.
  • Yes, it does.

We can't really tell you that without knowing exactly when you ovulate. For example, if you ovulate on day 22 and have a 13 day LP, your due date will be different than if you ovulate on day 25 and have a 10 day LP. Know what I mean?

Basically, if you don't know exactly when you ovulate, your best bet is to go in for an US to date the pregnancy.

    Good Luck! :)

If you Od on 1/25, then you're 4w6d pregnant.

    Confused

    Uh huh.

  • Thanks, ladies! I'm going to the gyno this afternoon to confirm with them for my first prenatal visit. Very exited.

First baby, no idea what the first visit entails. I was thinking I was closer to 6 weeks so I thought it might entail a little more than a blood test. But maybe that's all I'll get!

    Either way, I'm excited!

In that case.... Just pull out a calendar and count backwards from 1/25, assuming that would have been day 14 if you had a 28 day cycle. So, calculate due date based on 1/12 being the first day of your last period. Which would make you 4 w 5 d- ish.  Does that make sense?

    It does. Thanks so much!

  • I ovulated on day 35 with my son. I brought my charts, but they kept dating my pregnancy much earlier, unless the u/s matched my chart. They dated my pregnancy at my 10 week u/s.
