Starting to feel baby??

Last night while laying in bed I swear I think I felt the baby move. It was a little like a rolling, fluttery feeling. I thought it might be gas, so I didn't think about it much.

But, just now while sitting in my chair at work I felt the same feeling again.

Could it happen this soon? I vividly remember what K's movement felt like in 3rd tri but I can't remember much as far as what it felt like this early!

Re: Starting to feel baby??

  • I've been feeling the baby move for a few weeks. It started as more of a tickle feeling, but once I had another ultrasound and I knew right were the baby was I knew it was the baby I was feeling.  At night I feel alot more movement than during the day.    You may just be paying more attention to the feelings this time than  you did with K.

  • I was feeling this baby at 13-14 weeks, so it is probably what you are feeling.

I felt the baby move last week (seriously!) and that's exactly what it felt like! Kind of a thumpy, fluttery, rolling feeling.

I felt DD @ 14 weeks...thought it was crazy because I didn't feel DS until 18 weeks, but my OB said that after your first child your uterus is thinner and so your child can literally be more mobile {it's not that there's more room in there, it's just not as tight}. Plus, I think with subsequent babies you already know the difference between something like your digestive system moving/gas bubble and fetal movement.

Also DH felt her move from the outside at 17 wks...way earlier than with DS!

  • yay that is so exciting. I felt my little guy at 15 weeks and it was like that roller coaster feeling.

  • I've heard you feel the 2nd baby earlier than the first.  I didn't feel J moving until 16 weeks.

  • I really think I am feeling some movements too! My DH thinks I am just over thinking but I mean, how would he know at all? :)
  • I started feeling flutters around that time too.
