I think between layers and all the body heat generated by them running around they will be fine. People are itching to get outside. I don't think anyone would raise any eyebrows at you taking your kids out in 50 degrees. We are planning a few park visits ourselves this week.
We took DD yesterday, just kept her in her winter coat, and didn't stay as long as we normally would. We had a blast! She's definitely ready for park weather!
Tom took Justin to the park yesterday and he had a great time. Layers are a good option.
That being said, yesterday was a much nicer day than today is. Sunshine and no wind, whereas today it's pretty chilly and hard to take. But I know Justin's school plays outside if it's above 35 degrees -- just dress appropriately and don't stay as long. Have hot chocolate when you come home!
