What are you doing tomorrow for Valentine's Day?  Does anyone here shun Hallmark Holidays?  What are you doing for your DH or your LO if you celebrate?   I fully expect to see posts about any fantastic, unexpected gifts tomorrow!  Have fun!

Re: Time for an update post!

  • Cerys is a mess!  She is 8 months old finally and has eight teeth and two canines coming in.  I went for a dentist visit for me and he looks at her mouth and said she had the mouth of a 15 month old!  GREAT!  But she loves eating and is doing so great!  She cruises around all the tables and says Mamamama and babababa.

We find out this Wednesday if we are having a boy or girl this time.  We are excited as are our families.  If it is a girl we have everything and if it is a boy I have a friend that is giving me all her boy clothes- thank GOD!  I am following in the footsteps of my previous pregnancy and haven't gained any weight and also have horrid asthma.  Oh well!

We don't really do Valentines Day. Today is DH's 30th birthday, so we celebrate that (cake anyone?? Yes please!).  I got him a card, but that's it.  We are going to Krogers to do our weekly shopping then cooking dinner.  How romantic, right?  I did get a card from Cerys to him, though!

That's about it!  We are trying to figure out a place to go on a short weekend away.  Other than that we are just hoping for a healthy baby this week.

  • We are back in the TTC mode again.  I have lost 19 lb.  I feel much better, but would have liked to lose another 10.  In due time.  I have been ill almost constantly with some bug since Thanksgiving.  I feel better for a few days, then I get another bug.  I will never ever skip out on my flu shot again.  I have had the flu twice already this year.  Ick.  I am just now feeling up to working out again.

DD is wonderful.  I just wish I had half of her energy.  She is a ball of fire.  I love watching her go.  She is so verbal, and notices details of everything.  We cannot pull any wool over her eyes.  She knows our bluff and calls us out every stinking time.  She is a singer and a dancer and loves to move and groove.  This is all new to me, so I am taking it in and loving everything she does.

DH and I decided not to spend money on V day this year.  We have a vacay in less than a month, and decided we would rather treat ourselves to something nice on vacation, instead of doing the heart full of cheap chocolates and redundant dinner out (after waiting hours) thing this year.  We have our V day all year long, so I see no need to single out Feb 14th as a reason to show love to my H.  The kids will get a few trinket treats, and DD has her V day party at school tomorrow.  It's all good!

  • We are still chugging away with TTC. I go back to Dr A on Tuesday for another monitoring appointment and hopefully will schedule our IUI #2 at that time.

Valentines day isn't being celebrated here apparently. I was planning to get DH a DVD that he wants but I learned today that it doesn't come out until the 22nd. I have been SO busy at work that I haven't had time to plan a thing. I typically try to do something small but special for him. This year he's getting zilch. I am at least going to run to Kroger on my lunch break tomorrow and get a card but that's the extent of it! When I told him tonight that the DVD I was getting him wasn't out yet he responded with "good, I didn't get you anything either"  Huh?

  • I'm getting bigger day by day.  Baby shower #1 is coming up.  I had a little scare earlier this week and had to go to triage for high blood pressure.  I have a follow up Tuesday, so hopefully everything will be alright.  I'm taking a little time off of work to hopefully get baby stuff done this week.

We did VDay today.  I don't really care about the holiday, but his grandma does.  We took her roses, visited the cemetery (she and her H were married 62 years) and went to dinner.  I think she had a good day.  I'd much rather see her happy than get some crappy trinket.  DH knows I am expecting some chocolate marshmallow hearts, so as long as that happens we're good.  I'll get him some candy too just because he's  a big kid.  That's about it.

  • DD has definitely left all her baby ways behind.  We are in full toddler mode.  She is chatting up a storm though we really don't know what she is saying, but she's very expressive about it!  She is also working on asserting herself which is fun to watch, and hard not to laugh at when she throws her baby tantrums over things.  She's even sleeping a little bit better again after I gave up one night and started Ferbering at 2am.  She is also climbing one everything in sight.  I turned my back the other day and she had her doll stroller pushed up against a bookcase, standing on it to get to the next shelf.

We aren't really celebrating VDay.  We do cards, but that's really about it.  I bought some break and bake cookies so I'll probably make those tonight in celebration, lol.

  • Cedric is doing great.  Turned 17 months old yesterday...can't believe how fast this 2nd year is flying!  He finally has 4 molars.  Is eating like a teenager, at least seems like it!

We are TTC, on cycle 3.

For Valentines Day we are just getting a heart shape pizza from Papa Johns.  My favorite pizza:)  I love pizza and Steve doesn't care to eat it that often, so I am happy.  We don't do too much for holidays for each other, no gifts.  Steve did propose to me 3 years ago on Valentines Day...so it is very special to me!

  • My new job is going well. It's definitely a big change, but the people I'm working with are helpful. I think it was a change for the better. Though, it's exhausting!

Alex is doing good. He's starting to get over his ear infection. He's still spoiled rotten : ). He won't have anything to do with crawling yet. His preference is to be held, almost all of the time! I can't believe he's 8 months already. Time really does fly.

And I'm not super big on Valentine's Day. Actually, DH and I pretty much don't celebrate any holiday with gifts and stuff like that. It seems to work for us.

Hope everyone has a great day!

  • DS is officially enrolled in preschool.  I still look at him in awe and wonder where the heck the last 3 years have gone!  He is doing great and loving his baby sister.....although he doesn't like to touch her, he is very concerned about what she's doing and if she's ok when she cries.  And he loves to talk about her to other people.

DD is doing well.  She is growing like a weed and nursing like a champ!  I can't believe she's almost 6 weeks old.

I'm doing pretty well too.  I wore a pair of prepregnancy pants the other day.  WOOT WOOT!  Granted they were elastic waist athletic pants, but up until the other day they didn't fit.  :-)  I set my return to work day as March 3.  That gives me 1 day back, my day off, and the weekend before I jump into a full week.  I am freaking out about the logistics of the evening routine with 2 kids.

I like to do something sentimental for V Day....not really a big gift.  My bday is tomorrow so I don't want to be greedy and expect 2 gifts.  Stick out tongue  DS and I made paper hearts and painted them and I wrote on the back reasons why we love DH.  Then we hid them all over the house, car, and in his work stuff so he'll find them and read them all day.  And I got DS one of those bug em things from Hallmark (yes...I am a sucker).  It is super cute and I think I will use it often to leave him special treats and notes.

  • Not too much new!  I'm 16 weeks (and a few days).  I def have a baby bump now!  I'm slowly starting to feel better.  I went 4 days w/o getting sick so thats an accomplishment!  We got our furniture and put it up this weekend!  It looks so good!  I'm very happy with it.  I will take pictures and post soon!

As for V Day we aren't doing anything special.  We don't really celebrate it.  We got each other cards and thats it!  Boring but practical!

  • Well, my biggest update is my new ticker. It is VERY VERY early, and I can't believe I'm even telling, but we could use all the prayers we could get. Estimated due date is October 16th. Dr. A truly is a miracle worker! Every twinge, etc. I think I'm having another miscarriage, so I'm hoping these next couple weeks go quickly so we can see the bean on our first ultrasound. (For those who know me IRL, this is not public knowledge and not FB friendly)

Other than that, Lucas is doing great! We are spending our Valentine's Day at the Children's museum and then going out to lunch.

  • Jackson is 6.5 months and is getting his first tooth!  Poor little guy had a rough night last night, it's right on the surface of his gums ready to pop right through.  He seems better this morning.  He is such a happy baby and we have been so blessed by him!

We are exchanging cards for VDay and having dinner tonight at Red Lobster since we have a GC for there.  It's a treat to eat out since we don't really eat out anymore since I am staying at home and we are on just DH's income, so I'm looking forward to it!

  • Kat is doing great, she has developed quite a personality.  No future plans for TTC, we are a "one and done" family.

I recently am out of work and have been staying home with my girl.  I know she misses day care, she loved school.  I feel terrible about not sending her, but financially it is not a possibility until I find work.  Plus, it would be silly to send her when I am not working.  Job searching every day is getting frustrating.  We are making the best of things though, I have been doing fun projects with dd at home and we go to story time every week at the library.  I am loving the time with her, but being a SAHM isn't an option for us financially so I am stressed.  Big time.

No big valentine plans.  We are going to bake funfetti (yum!) cupcakes today as a surprise for DH.  I am trying a new recipe for dinner tonight, it is Mexican Monday here!

  • We are still TTC#2-- this is our 4th cycle and fingers crossed it will be the one!

Nicholas is going to be 1 year old on March 3rd and that is INSANE to me! This year has flown by. We had our appt with the endocrinologist last week and it went really well. She will be his primary doc (along w/ the pedi) from now on. The biggest news is that he will be starting growth hormone therapy shots as soon as we can get insurance approval!!! This should hopefully help him grow (obviously), help his blood sugar be more stable, help him get sick less, etc. Overall we could really use prayers that our insurance doesnt cause a big stink about this. Some families have gotten approval in as fast as 2 weeks others it can take up to a year. GHT is a big commitment for us (injections every night from now until Nicholas is probably a teenager) but I am really hopeful that this is going to be a positive move in the right direction :-)

No Valentines plans for us. We really dont celebrate "holidays" even our birthday's or anniversary's. We are kind of like pp said, we celebrate all year long. We dont wait until an occasion to buy each other a present if we see something we like. Money is pretty tight right now with extra medical bills and saving to go to the RSS medical convention this summer. I got DH some of those peanut butter snickers squares candies yesterday at the store...haha thats it though :-)

Nicholas and Audrey share a birthday!

  • We are finally TTC again!  Cycle 1 after our miscarriage!

We're celebrating Valentine's Day tomorrow with dinner at Morton's courtesy of American Express points Smile

  • We are expecting #2 and just went for our 10 week appt on Friday.  Doc couldn't find the heartbeat on the doppler so we got a surprise ultrasound and got to see our little one!!  After the doc printed the picture, the baby started kicking away and you could see it's knees kicking back and forth and the arms were moving all around.  I didn't realize you could see that much movement that early!!  It was a great moment.  Heartbeat was 174!

Ethan is doing very well, so talkative and we are blown away by his sentences and he makes us laugh all the time.  He is very loving towards my belly and gives the baby hugs and kisses all the time, and asks to play patty cake on my belly lol :)

We had GC's from Christmas so we went to PF Chang's and the movies on Saturday night.  DH got me a new bead for my Troll bracelet and we picked up the Kinect and some games for it, it was a great deal and he had gc's from Christmas too.  I'm off today and was going to make dinner, but I've been craving pizza so I think I'd like to get a heart shaped pizza from Papa John's and I'll make something chocolate for dessert :)

  • We're keepin busy.  I'm 18 weeks along with this pregnancy and starting to feel like myself again.  I lost a total of 31lbs in the first 14 weeks, which did not make the docs happy, but what can you do?  I've been kind of worried because I don't really have a bump at all, but baby is measuring on track and I'm sure the bump will come :)  We find out the gender on March 3rd!

Allie is nothing short of hilarious and keeps me laughing.  The things that come out of that child's mouth amaze me on a regular basis. She starts gymnastics tomorrow morning and is beyond excited.  She's been wearing her leotard all weekend :)  We're in the planning stages of her big girl room and will hit the ground running when we order new furniture for the baby after finding out the sex.  Hoping for a smooth transition to her new room.

We're not doing much for Valentine's Day.  We're not huge holiday people and I have to work anyway.  I got DH some Reese's Hearts from Allie and Cletus the Fetus and a pair of boxers and a 6 pack of Great Lakes.  So romantic.

  • Almost 21 weeks with our little girl. We've decided to name her Alexis Rose. She's already being completely and totally spoiled by everyone but us. We haven't bought a thing and her closet is filling up fast. We're excited to get going on the nursery and have tons of ideas but am having some issues putting them into action.

H's got some testing coming up. He needs to go get some blood tests done to get his levels taken and see about adjusting his meds. I hope the dr makes some changes. I can tell something is going on and I'm trying to be supportive but it's hard to always be the positive one. Things are going well for us though.

I am getting excited for the Mason GTG. It's not far from my house and I'm looking forward to meeting more people IRL and having them somewhat recognize my screen name. I feel more of a part of the group now that LO is on her way.

  • More of a lurker here... I am 32 weeks along, getting very excited to meet our little girl, her name is Eden Elizabeth. Things have gone rather well and am just getting to the feeling uncomfortable stage, but I know it is worth it.

We celebrated Valentines's Day by having dinner at the Dilly Cafe in Mariemont. This was a nice surprise from DH, he said, he figured we should have a nice Valentine's Day before Eden's arrival.

  • We are still TTC#2.  I finally got off of progestin and am on my (I think) 13th cycle?  Anyway, just trying to be positive!  I'm encouraged by all of the BFPs!  Niko is a hoot and we love him to pieces.  I am impressed daily by his knowledge and creativity.  For V-day, Niko sort of has a stomach bug, so we are taking it easy.

  • 32 wks. along with DD #2! OMG. It is flying by so quickly. I am feeling well, but starting to get overwhelmed with all the stuff I have to get organized for my long-term sub for the remainder of the school year. I am super OCD and psycho about my school curriculum, so I am making weekly folders with handouts, etc. for her to use/copy to keep my kids on track. I've also done all my lesson plans for the rest of the year (tentative outline day by day), so this makes me feel better. I was completely unprepared at 36 wks. last time when I had DD, so I refuse to be this way again! I have an appt. tomorrow to schedule another u/s to check baby girl's position. Can't figure out if she's still frank breech or not (hope not!! I really hope to try for a VBAC.) I also had to do another 24 hr urine test and blood work over the weekend since 32 wks. was when I first started to feel the pains of HELLP syndrome, but casually ignored them for a month! Tongue Tied She'll be here before we know it!

Madelyn is getting over a nasty cold, and she is so much fun these days. Her language explosion has been incredible, and she is such a polite child. We receive nice comments from everyone about how she says "please" "thank you" and "you're welcome." We are planning her 3rd bday party (!!) for mid-March since I'm afraid of delivering early again. We're having a Mickey Mouse theme.

For v-day, DH sent me a dozen gorgeous roses to my classroom (insert kids' "AWWW" here.) Surprise and Sat. night we cooked a delicious meal at home instead of going out. I got DH some gift cards for a guys night out at the local sports bars for some time away.

  • Hi there.... Alex is 3 months old today and getting over the bronchiolotis that everyone has. I am getting over it as well (although it was only a cold for me).

DH and I really don't get into Valentine's Day but his mom got Alex a bear (now his 4th) and two huge chocolate hearts for us. Yum.

Right now I am wigging out out the cinder blocks being thrown at cars on the stretch of 275 I drive every day.
