My LO needed a few more pacifiers so I got him some today. He has a mix of 0-3 and 0-6 sized Avent pacifiers and he takes them both equally well, though we don't use the 0-3 much anymore. Today I bought him the 6-18 month size and he won't take it.
He screams if I try to give it to him, so I'm not giving them, but am I doing any orthodontic harm by giving him the smaller sizes? I'm mainly thinking of the 0-3 month size with this question, as he is just now 6 months old.
Re: Does the size of the pacifiers matter
Besdies the nipple being larger, the shield of the paci (the part that goes across the mouth) is also longer.
As babies grow, their mouths are larger. You need a bigger shield size to be safer.
"A safe pacifier should be at least 1.5 inches across to prevent choking"
