Dr. Cotton...meet Nathaniel

So my DS has double ear infections again...4th time in 3 months.  Boo! Crying Poor little guy is miserable and is trying to pull his ear off the side of his head.  I tried to tell him it was attached, but he just stuck his thumb in his mouth and drooled.

Thankfully, we were spared the ear wax extraction this time.  His ears were so inflamed that the pedi wanted to wait.  I'm sure we'll be treated to that in two weeks for the follow up.

So, the pedi said we should def. call to get him an appt. w/ Dr. Cotton.  He warned that it would probably be a long wait for an appt, but would be worth it.

  • Dr.Cotton did surgery on my father years ago when he would see adults.  My dad still thanks him almost everyday.  Good Luck.

  • Hopefully you will get lucky.  When I called, the ENT office just happened to have an appointment available the next week.  If you don't see a specific doctor, you might have luck getting in sooner.  I didn't have a recommendation from my pedi for a specific doctor in that practice, just the phone number.  When I called, they got us in with the first doctor that had the next available appointment.......and that was Dr. Cotton.  You might want to try that route if the wait is extremely long.

Did your pedi put Nathaniel on another antibiotic?  Poor baby.

  • Poor kiddo. Ear infections are just miserable. I hope you can get in quickly with Dr. Cotton.
  • He is on augmentin again.  I feel so bad because he has had them for a few days most likely and I attributed his fussiness and crankiness to teething.  When he started waking up 3-4 times a night and pulling that ear I knew he had them again.
  • Poor Nathaniel!  He must be miserable.  I hope you're able to get into the doctor soon.

  • Poor guy! I hope you get an appointment soon.

I know not everyone goes this route, but I believe that chiropractors can do a lot to help kids with ear infections and other ailments. We take Jack to Dr. Paul Baker. He's helped so many children and also kept a lot of them from needing surgery!

     Good luck! Hang in there!

  • Don't beat yourself up about him having the infection and you attributing it to something else.  I know I did that a couple times last winter and felt so guilty about it.  It's just impossible to know it sometimes.   :(
