Trying to Get Pregnant

WWTTGPD? Chart & Provera help needed

Quick reminder if you don't remember my postings:

*m/c 12/6/10
*No AF to date
*Called Dr. and got an appointment to discuss no AF; she said that it was normal for it to take up to 3 months but because we want to TTC again and I was getting anxious, she could give me a jump-start
*Rx for Provera given to me last week but decided to wait to start it because I had a 1/2 marathon this weekend that I've trained a long time for and didn't want to worry about potential side effects.
*I've been using FF since the end of January and according to it, I ovulated on the 9th and should now expect AF (I O'd the day I was at the Dr. to get the Rx!)

So, WWTTGPD?

If I wasn't using FF, I wouldn't be the wiser about this situation---at all! But I LOVE the knowledge!  Anyway---

Do I start the Provera now as planned since my race is over or wait for AF and see if FF is right?
If luck would have it that I got pg during this really long post-m/c cycle, what would happen if I start taking Provera??  It's too early to POAS today, obv.

***My chart is in my siggy***

TIA :)

Re: WWTTGPD? Chart & Provera help needed

  • this just happened to me, I was like on CD 70 something and had to go back to the doctor and she made me get a progesterone level before i started provera. I ovulated thena nd she said to wait.  I started AF on Friday.  She said not to take Provera just in case I was pregnant so I would wait.

  • At this point I'd probably wait it out.  Give yourself another 10 days or so and see what happens.  You already have the script, so you can fill it whenever

Thanks, Sullivan!  I really wish my Dr. had tested my progesterone (but it may not have shown anything if I actually O'd on the day I was there?) but anyway, it sounds like my situation is totally like yours!  I'm definitely leaning toward waiting, I just needed to hear it from people who have either been through it or know more about this stuff.

I never pushed the doctor about testing the progesterone and then when I took my BBT the next day, I realized I was totally on my way to getting crosshairs on FF!

Yes This exactly. What's 10 or so more days anyway? (coming from a girl with several 100+ day cycles)

Good luck and I hope you get AF soon :)

Thanks.  I already filled it so I figure I have it on hand if things don't happen as FF predicts.

Thanks, Kdg :)  I think the same thing at this point---what's another couple of weeks at this point and I would have to wait whether I take the Provera or not---I'll just hope*hope*hope that AF is ready to come on her own, if not, I've got the script.

  • I would ask my doctor for a 7DPO progesterone test.  Then you'll know for sure if you O'd.  I agree with the PP that you have nothing to lose by waiting to start the Provera.
