February 2011 Moms

xp: Had my Baby Girl!

I went in for my repeat c-section on February 8, 2011.  It basically went as planned but I had some breathing complications from the spinal.  I also had them after my daughter so now it has to be looked into so that next time it doesn't happen to me.  Thank god I had better dr.'s this time and the nursing staff at this hospital was unbelievable.  She was born at 8:42 am and was 8 pounds 1 oz, and 20.5 inches long.  She was slightly smaller than her big sister.  Her name is Brynn Elizabeth, and I am so happy we went with that name because it definitely seems to suit her.

Her big sister loves her and says baby and gives her kisses all of the time.  There was a little regression in that my daughter wanted a pacifier again....having never used them since she was in the hospital (she never liked them), and she tried drinking out of the baby's bottle.  That was about it though. I am so excited to watch them grow together.  I hope everyone is feeling well, and I wish you all luck on your upcoming arrivals :)

As far as the repeat csection my recovery is going much, much better despite some complications.  One of the worst being that I must of had a bleed they didnt see during surgery and now my entire "area" is completely purple (sorry if tmi).  They told me that it might take up to two months for the bruising and swelling to go down.  So even though I had a csection....it looks like I gave birth vaginally :)  Oh Well!  She is well worth it :)

  • Aw, thats kinda cute that Avery wanted to be like Brynn a little bit :) Glad to hear everything turned out ok, sorry about the breathing scare! I love Brynn's name, especially with Avery, they "go" nicely! Congrats!
  • Congratulations on your baby girl. Avery's reaction is so normal I know when I had Sam I let Sean have baby time everyday for the first few weeks. He could do whatever baby things he wanted to during that time but the rest of the day he needed to be a big boy. He used a paci, sat in the car seat, wanted to be swaddled and tried a bottle. It was really short lived but I think because I gave him time to do that he was much easier to deal with.

I am so sorry to hear about the complications I hope you are recovering well.

  • Congratulations on your baby girl!

I had significant bruising on my belly. My belly button was black and the area around it and below was green. Weird.

Hope your recovery continues to go well!
