Medical Equipment Supplier for Breastpumps

My insurance will cover a portion of the cost of a breast pump if purchased at a Medical Equipment Supplier. Know of any locations in the Twin Cities?

Re: Medical Equipment Supplier for Breastpumps

  • Call local hospitals.  I know Fairview has one, if I recall they gave me some info a few years ago about places to get one cheaper.

My insurance didn't cover the cost so I went the internet route.

    Good luck.

  • Does your insurance company have a list of approved in-network suppliers. There was a list online at BCBS that I checked and ended up going through Milk Moms. I think she works out of her home but it was really easy to just order it over the phone through her and she submitted everything to the insurance company. I think I received it the next day.

  • I bought mine from the breastfeeding store in Meadowbrook (attached to Methodist hospital in St. Louis Park).

It was really easy.  I just had my OB fax the prescription to the store, then I just picked out the pump I wanted.  They covered 80%, so they sent me the bill for the other 20% in the mail.

  • You can call your insurance company and they will tel you were you can pick it up.
  • I agree with pp, call your insurance company and they should give you a list of locations near you. I'm going to check out Tonka Medical Supplies since it's right by my house, and also the store at the Park Nicollet Clinic on Excelsior Blvd.
