date night-cake decorating class!

Hi Ladies!!

Some of you may remember my original post about taking a cake decorating class with DH for Valentine's Day. We just finished up and it was fantastic!!!!!!!!!! We had so much fun. It was so much better than going to dinner and a movie like we do every year. It was amazing b/c it is so much harder than it looks. After sitting through nearly every cake and cupcake show that is on tv I was sure that I could do it with my eyes closed....WRONG! I have a lot of practicing to do!! I will post pics below. DH did an awesome job with his cake. He did a basket-weave along every side of his cake! He really did have a good time.

If any of you are interested check out Icing Academy on fb. Her name is Julie and she is so nice. She also has a website. It is awesome b/c she comes to you and brings the cake/cupcakes and all of the supplies!!! She does a ton of kids parties also!

    Sounds like fun! I'm positive that DH wouldn't take something like that with me though :(

    Oh, I'm so glad you mentioned this again!  A coworker asked last night if we wanted to get a class together with this company.  It'd be $99 for 2 hour classes for 3 sessions.  What is included in the price?  Do they give you anything besides their expertise and a picture?  (For example, decorating tips to decorate with--or do you supply your own?)

    Your cakes look great!  Glad you had a good time.

    The price does not include any supplies to take home with you. However, she supplies everything you need for the lesson. You get an apron, tips, decorating bag, cake/cupcakes, etc. So, you don't need to supply anything. She does have everything that you can purchase also. If this is something that you like to do I highly recommend this company. She is very nice and organized!

    They look great!  Laura and I took cake decorating classes at Michaels a few years ago and it was fun.  I wish I had more time to do it now.
