Middle Name help

Ok so we kind of are back to the drawing board with a girls name.  We were between Lily and Lillian and had decided to do Lily Ann S.  Now we may think we want to go back to Lillian but now would need a middle name.  I love Lillian Grace but our last name starts with an S (VERY common) and if you say it all together it kinda is a mouthful...any other suggestions???  I want to steer clear of Marie and Elisabeths (common middle names).

 TIA!

Re: Middle Name help

  • What about Lillian Faith? Kind of along the lines of Grace. I also always like Alexandra, but its another more common nickname, which you said you wanted to avoid.

  • I love the name Lillian Grace! I think if you love the name you should stick with it. My son has somewhat of a mouthful if I used all 3 names...but, honestly..I always just call him Evan. His middle name is after my dad, so, there was no question we were going to use it.

Do you have any family names you could incorporate? if you really don't want to use Grace?

Jen, mom to Evan-6yrs and Ella-20 months
  • Actually Grace was a shout out to my fam...Lillian is after DH's paternal grandmother and my moms family's last name is O'Malley and when my grandfather was doing our geneology he found out we were related to Grace O'Malley...so I've kinda always wanted to use that name,

  • As I was reading your post and you said you were going with Lillian, I thought... Grace! Then I continued reading a had to laugh. I agree with pp. If you like it and it has meaning for you, use it. How often do you really use all three of someone's names together?

  • I think Lillian Grace is beautiful, and if it is something you like go with it!  Besides there really are very few times that you will actually say your LO's full name, besides when people are asking what her name is.  And if you last name is what I think it is, it really isn't that much of a mouthful, if you take a little pause between each name it sounds lovely.

    -Lillian Maura
    -Lillian Catherine

  • I think it sounds fine with your last name.  My child's full name is a mouthful too bc of the 1st and middle name sort of meshing with ending in the same sound as the middle name starts.

     I love the name Lillian.

  • Lillian Grace is a very pretty name

  • I also agree that Grace is a beautiful mn for baby Lillian.

side note: a co-work just had a daughter and went with the name Lilliana, with intentions of calling her Lily. Just another option if you are looking for something a little different!
