  • I like the name Amalie and it is on my list of names.  We have already decided on a different girl name though if this one is a girl.  My husband and I were at a wedding in Germany a few years ago and Amalie is the groom's niece's name.  I have liked it since then :-)

  • I like it - but prefer the spelling "Amelie." Seen the movie? Good connotations with the name..

  • I prefer Amelie or Amalia. I feel like you would get asked about the pronunciation of Amalie very frequently and that it would also be likely to be misspelled a lot (assuming you live in the U.S.).

  • I think Amelie is a very pretty name =) It's French...there is a popular Indie movie Amelie from a few years back which is just adorable...check it out!

    Hmmm, I don't think Amelie or Amalia would be any easier or any more recognizable than Amalie. But that's just me...
