Babies: 6 - 9 Months

If your LO is in size 4 diapers...

what was their weight and length when they switched to that size? DS is 8 months old and is probably a little over 20 lbs but he's very long. I feel like his size 3s look like low rise bikini diapers. I'm due to buy diapers soon so I don't want to stock up on size 3s if he really needs the size 4s. We buy Huggies if that makes a difference. TIA.

  • LO is also 8 months and 20 lbs and we just bought 4s because I too thought the 3s were a little low rise. So when we bought, I got the 4s. I figure, it's always better to go a little bigger than too small and waste them. We used to buy Huggies but when we got to the 3s they started to leak, so we buy Pampers 12 hours.

  • We switched over when DS hit 20 pounds. We've been in them for a few months and they fit much better than the size 3s.
  • My son has been on 4s for a while mainly b/c at night he would leak and needed the bigger size.  He is 7.5 months now.
  • I'm moving my DS up to size 4s today. I think he is around 20lbs. He's been peeing out of size 3s so I know it's time to move up.

  • DD is 19lbs. We will be switching to size 4's once this case of diapers is gone.
  • She was about 18.5 pounds and 28.5 inches when we switched (around 7 months). She would have still fit in the 3's, but I moved her since her brother wears 4's and it was easier to have just one size.
  • If you go to pampers website, they have a diaper sizer tool.  You put in age, height and weight and it will tell you what size they should be in.  I am sure it can't vary too much between pampers and huggies.

Our DD is 23 lbs and 28.75 inches and in size 4.  She has been in size 4 since she was like 21 lbs.  I use the diaper sizer on the pampers website and of course when her diaper starts to look to low in the front.
