We have been signing things like "milk" "cup" "finished" "bath" etc. to Libby since she as about 5 weeks old. She's only ever done the "finished" sign...we say "all done" and she wiggles her wrists back and forth.
Well, this week she started signing "milk"...at first I wasn't sure because it looked like she was trying to snap her finger, but I've figure out now that this is her sign for "milk." She gets all excited and cracks a huge smiled when she signs it and I say "milk?" Now, if I can just get her to stop pinching my collar bone. She does this as I am undoing my shirt and it really hurts!
Re: AW: She's signing!
that's awesome!
LB will sometimes sign "all done" and then as I clear his tray want it back, lol. So he clearly doesn't get it yet! YAY for Libby!
How amazing! It's cute that she enjoys when the connection is made.
There were children with down syndrome at my previous job and I loved learning sign language from THEM!
They even made up their own sign for uncle! LOL
