to preface, I'm in good shape. I run regularly, played soccer up until I got my BFP, have practiced yoga for a few years, take the occasional aerobics class, and lift weights.
I recently started going to a new yoga studio which I absolutely love. They're offering a great deal on a 1 year membership but I'm wondering if it's going to be a waste of money. I don't have any MS yet or any other major symptoms and have no idea how I will be feeling in the coming weeks/months. I do know that they will modify my practice to accomodate the pregnancy, and additionally they offer a couple of prenatal classes each week.
Did anyone continue to practice in normal (not prenatal) classes throughout their pregnancy? Am I crazy to consider joining this studio at this point?
Re: yoga throughout pregnancy?
I'm still in my regular vinyasa class. I have to make some modifications - cobra just didn't work after about 14 weeks for me. Same with other lying on the belly poses. Everything else is great, and I prefer a "real" class to a prenatal class that assumes I've never done yoga before.
I'm not sure how long I'll make it, but I just hit my third tri and I still enjoy my class. I plan to go as late as I can, and hopefully I'll find a way to pick it up post-baby (but I actually think that will be harder than continuing while pg, just because of the timing of the class).

I did up until the last month but that was more due to timing. Like you I was in fairly god shape going into my pregnancy but I had just started with yoga. I talked to the teacher before class about it and asked for any modifications. She asked that I tell her as I entered into each trimester as she would make some new modifications. I enjoyed being able to do yoga throughout and I think it helped. I would go for it but listen to your body, if you are tired take a break, if something doesnt feel right dont do it and talk to your teacher about it.
The one thing to stay away from is hot yoga, the heat could be harmful to your baby. Otherwise staying active is good for you, your baby, and for delivery! GL!
I'm 32 weeks and still doing my normal flow yoga. As others have said, I've been making modifications on twists, some poses and of course not doing any of the ab work. I really credit yoga for helping to alleviate a lot of the achiness, soreness, anxiety/stress.
Although I was in great shape before getting pregnant and regularly practiced yoga, I decided to just buy packages of classes at a time at my yoga studio rather than commit to a year, since it is impossible to say how you will feel, and I preferred to buy a package with classes that don't expire and not feel the pressure of having to go within a year.
