I really like this name. It's simple and feminine, and if both you and SO like it, you should definitely use it. Don't worry about popularity; it's not that big of an issue, especially if Mia isn't as common in your area.
I am a soccer player turned soccer coach, and of course I love Mia... It's a great name!! While Mia's real name is Mariel, I am pretty sure she's going to forever be known as Mia.
