Hello,
Just curious if anyone has done any research on any of the Mexican Restatuarant chains where we might be able to enjoy some chips and queso??? I've heard not to eat the Queso Blanco... but what about Tumbleweed? I would assume their queso is pastueurized....
Thoughts????
Re: Mexican Restaurants with Pasteurized Cheese???
I would be extremely surprised if any used unpasteurized cheese. It is really uncommon, especially for restaurants- who have to comply with so many food safety standards.
The only times I would question it is at a family run place or a very fancy restaurant.
unpasteurized cheeses are not legal for sale in the US unless they have been aged 60 days or longer. Thus, any soft cheese (like queso) is pasteurized and safe to eat.
