Trouble TTC

Non-triggered Clomid cycle

Our first cycle with Clomid and IUI will start later this month. They recommend that I keep tracking my ovulation with BBT and my CBEFM. I'm sure I'll be double checking with OPKs just to make sure I get it right. I'm worried we'll miss it (one month I only had Highs, no Peaks.)

Seems that most people do a trigger shot for their IUI.  Do you think I should request that we do a trigger too? Or just go along with their recommendation for the first month?

Re: Non-triggered Clomid cycle

  • I did just clomid, with OPKs and then an IUI no trigger shot

  • I've had to do a trigger shot two times because my follicle was ready, but I hadn't ovulated yet.  I've heard there is better timing by doing a trigger shot, but I know a lot of people just do OPKs.  GL

  • OK, seems like it varies. I just figure if I can get a shot to give us better chances, then bring it on! lol I know its not that simple but....

    Thanks for the input!

  • I just asked my RE about getting the trigger shot - the issue is getting the timing right so that its not too early or too late.  So I think that is why they prefer the OPKs if you ovulate on your own.
