Thanks to all of you who responded to my post about 'poop and autism' the other day. I had all but decided to go ahead with the GFCF diet when I really just felt uneasy about why his poop issues had been going on for so long. I believe all the hype about GFCF and Autism being related, but it also seemed that there must be a physiological reason as well. I ran across several blogs that confirmed that I had a valid concern - may it be lactose intolerance, dairy allergy, Celiac or something else... the doc did feel that this is not normal & is worth running several tests to figure this thing out.
They are doing a Celiac Panel, IgA, ESR, CRP, CBC, and stool samples.

Re: Tests run for Celiac Disease today...
Good luck with everything! I hope the tests all come back fine.
Are they just running stool cultures? I am just wondering.
Thanks!
Jenny McCarthy has a new book out yesterday (Mother Warriors) and it talks about biomedicial intervention. It's a great read and talks with 10 families about what they did to recover their children.
Thanks for posting this.
I was thinking about allergy testing before starting the GFCF diet too. Now I will have it done.
We had Tucker checked because my husband has celiac. Luckily, he doesn't have the gene.
Regardless of if your child has CD or not, a gluten-free diet has been proven to help children with autism. There are a ton of articles about it on the internet.
I know that it sounds totally overwhelming to have to live with a GF diet but once you have a good understanding of what your child (or DH!) can and cannot have, it becomes much easier.
You can page me with any questions!
Good luck!
