Asking for books by name?

Anyone else's kid ask for books by nickname?

"Jeep in a Sheep" is "Uh oh!"

"The Bear Snores On" is "Ahh Choo!"

and the "Wheels on the Bus" is "Bus" well that is not as cute.

Matt will either pick out one of these books and then call it by his nickname or he will stand there and pretend to sneeze to ask for the book.

Re: Asking for books by name?

  • That is exactly what DS used to do (and still does).  In fact, that's exactly what he called Bear Snores On, and I want to say he's called Sheep in a Jeep, "Oh, No!"

But how cute is him sneezing to ask for the book?

Snowy Day is sometimes "Crunch, Crunch," "Smacking Stick," or "Snowy."

Blueberries for Sal is often, "Kerplink, kerplank, kerplunk,"

And on and on. I hate to think of the day this ends, you know, it's so cute!

    Yes and that is adorable!!!

M asks for  a particuliar picture book from the set by the object in them that she wants to see. Usually she grabs it and brings it to me saying/signing the word.

  • Fiona has an Eloise Wilkins treasury book, which one story inside she calls "Daddy" the real title is "We Help Mommy" but I guess the Daddy kissing the kids goodnight is what she remembers most about it.

    Go Dog Go is "Dog"

10 little Babies is just "babies"

Everything else she'll just come to me with it in hand and call Dory (Story)
