Toys in convertible car seats?

Is it ok to give them toys to have on their laps to play with while they ride in their seats? This isn't dangerous, is it? Thanks!

    I give them toys all the time. I just make sure they're not too large or heavy. They play with little teacups, toy keys, soft toys, stuffed animals, my empty water bottle, etc.

    Exactly what sunnybrook said. My boys love to read in the car, so they've always got a book or two.
    Technically, in the event of an accident anything and everything in the car (that isn't "secured) has the potential of being dangerous.

    The girls HAVE to have Sophie the Giraffe when they are in the car.  They always have their Sophie and a small stuffed rattle toy.
