So now I need a phone case...

DH didn't pick one out because he wanted me to be able to pick one I like.  Any recs for the best one?  I definitely want to make sure that it is protective.

    I researched cases a LOT.  Probably too much.  If you want to go heavy duty protection, but not a cute case, get the Otterbox.  I wanted something a little cuter and not as bulky.  I have this Speck Candyshell.  I like it and it protects my phone very well.  The only con I have is that you can't use off-brand cables for it.  Only the official apple cable fits because of the way the bottom covers the plug in.  Not a huge problem if you have enough apple cables.  I have two since I had mine from my iphone3G.  Oh another con is that you can't use the flash with it.  It has a cut out for it, but it gives it a pink (or whatever color your case is) hue from the reflection.  It's not a huge deal to me because I don't normally use my camera when it's dark.  :)

    ETA: I see that Speck now makes the candyshell cases with a flip option so you can dock it/plug it in with no problems.

    Oh and I definitely found the prices to be lower on Amazon than anywhere else on the web.

    A friend of mine had his phone in an Otterbox case and he ran over it with his car (accidentally, of course) the other day, and the phone is totally fine. 

    We have them for all our phones.  I don't like that they don't come in a lot of colors for my Blackberry, though.  Bet they do for iphones.

    Oh, and get them on Amazon.  NOT the store.  Lots cheaper on A.

    From the puny amount of research I have done, I am definitely buying on Amazon.  I will just be really really careful until my order comes.

    The Otterbox is great and it keeps the phone safe from water aka baby drool my daughter loves playing with my phone. The otterbox has saved my iphone from when she was younger liking to put it in her mouth to the unknown amount of times she has dropped it. I am guilty of dropping my phone A LOT also can we say klutz :)

     Happy IPhone-ing  you will be addicted in no time!

    I've gotten some great deals on phone cases on ebay.  My droid one is super cute--black with white polka dots.
