I just got Toodle permission to enroll in the 2+ preschool program (through our park district), despite being 3 months younger than the cutoff, with no more effort than a few emails, and can go enroll him this weekend. The 2+ classes have plenty of room still too (starts in September)!
SO relieved that (a) he'll still have some classroom/social experiences when we transition to a nanny and (b) I didn't have to go through the horror of applying and waitlists and interviews for a city preschool that would cost $500/month (no idea if that's what it would actually cost but based on what our city daycare costs and what I know of these schools, probably not too far off).
Now, as DH said, we just have to hope that he isn't a terror and ends up kicked out for bad behavior after they made an exception for him. Eek. ![]()
Re: THIS is why we moved to the suburbs!
Well, he's not a terror exactly, but we have had a couple "incident reports" from school for him for being aggressive (scratching/pushing) when other kids take his snack or sit in the lap of his favorite teacher. Hasn't happened in several months (since he's started getting words) and seems like most in toddler classes have some of that, but I always worry!
