Hey ladies!
My daughter has just really started to walk in the last week. We really don't own any shoes that fit her right now. But as we go out she wants to walk now so I'm thinking we need to get a few pairs. Any good recommendations for good "walking" shoes for an early walker?
Thanks!
Re: Shoe Recommendations Please
I used to buy whatever was cheapest and have completely learned my lesson. The shoes wore out quickly and my DD's feet always hurt. (to the point that she would cry about having to wear shoes)
Head to Stride Rite. They are the only place I will buy shoes now.
The Stride Rite in Albertville has a huge selection of shoes in the $20-$30 range, (much cheaper than mall Stride Rites)
Stride Rite will take the time to measure your LO's foot and make sure they are getting a proper fitting shoe that will last. (ie - fits properly, but still has room to grow)
I bought my DD's most recent pair of shoes in July. They have held up WONDERFULLY. She is going to be getting new shoes soon only because her feet have grown, not because the shoes have worn out.
I am fairly cheap when it comes to clothes, but to me, Stride Rite is well worth the money.
A Little Bird and a Monkey Butt
I took my LO to Stride Rite to get his foot measured and then ordered Stride Rite shoes online from Diapers.com. I've also heard that 6pm.com has good deals on Stride Rite shoes.
Stride Rite shoes are great! They last a long time too. You can usually find some on sale or clearance (especially at southdale).
When DD started walking we didn't immediately put her in a hard soled shoe. First we used PediPeds.....something kind of in between robeez and regular shoes with a really flexible sole.

See Kai Run also has a nice line for beginning walkers.

UberBaby at the West End shops in Saint Louis Park has a nice selection of different shoe brands.
