Crib Wedge - Rolling Down It??

Hi all!  I was hoping some people who use crib wedges can give me some advice.  My LO has reflux so we purchased the Dex Crib Wedge that goes under the sheet  at BRU and put it in our PNP so we can start transitioning him out of the RNP.  He wiggles ALOT when he is waking and he managed to keep ending up sideways at the bottom of the wedge so it was a fail!  How are you guys keeping your little ones from doing the same thing?  Or do I just have an extra wiggly baby? LOL  Thanks!!

Re: Crib Wedge - Rolling Down It??

  • We make a "nest"...our LOs crib mattress is elevated to help with congestion.  You roll up a large towel/blanket and then form it into a U-shape and cover it tightly with a receiving blanket.  You lay LO in it with their legs hung over the bottom, the bottom of the U should be at their butt and the top of the U under/at each armpit - I always push the sides of the U again DS' body when I put him in bed so he's in it good.  He loves it - I think it kind of feels like someone is holding them and he doesn't move either.  Occasionally he'll wiggle sideways but not very often and it is MUCH better than when we did nothing... Good luck! :)

  • Yea my kid would end up w her head smashed into the side of the bassinet slouching, and her feet would be scrunched up bc she slid.... we just got rid of it. It was for congestion reasons.
  • Our Dr. recommended that we put books under one side of the crib to alleviate the problem, so we returned our wedge to BRU.
  • And your little one doesn't still wiggle down the incline?  How thick of books are we talking?  Thanks!!
  • I wanna say we have 4 inches of books under the crib. And thus far, no, she doesn't wiggle down the incline. She rolls onto her side, though, and sleeps like that (no matter how many times I move her to her back!)
