2nd time moms..whos in maternity clothes already?

Im 8 weeks and I busted out the trunk of maternity clothes;) It felt so good to breathe again..the belly bands are still loose bc they are so stretched out from DD but the smaller ones fit well. I wear scrubs 3 days a week but 2 days I need to wear "normal" clothes and no one knows im preg yet..in my regular clothes which are waay too tight already it obvious that I have a tummy. I keep wearing scarfs or cardigans over everything. Someone said I was very fashionable the other day and I wanted to laugh and say no im just secretive lollolol.

  • I wear scrubs during the week too but I've already busted out the maternity jeans on the weekend. In my defense they aren't full panel but they are so much mOre comfortable and softer than my non maternity jeans.

Me too...the mat jeans are so comfy and I'm also wearing tops some days. I probably don't NEED to, but it feels better and doesn't look like I'm trying to squeeze into clothes that are too small for me.

  • I am not there yet although I can tell that my regular jeans are more snug than they were a month ago. I put on a pair of maternity jeans the other day and they are still too big but I bet I will be in them by the end of 1st tri. I didn't wear maternity anything until I was 22 weeks with DD - I am thinking this time is going to be different! :)

  • not yet, but I am so bloated by the end of my day that I could! I switch to pjs as soon as I can.

  • Yup I busted them out last week but only have a little my sister has the rest of mine she is due in April, but I am picking some stuff up this weekend b/c right now I have a mat summer shirt on with a cardigan and a belly band jeans ( and the belly isn't working so much anymore).  I think my pregnancies being so closed has made my bloat/bump show up earlier!
  • I'm considering switching to maternity jeans again, but I don't need the tops yet. I have a lot of really long tunic sweaters that I wear atm. I guess once spring clothes hit I'm going to have to start buying maternity clothes.

  • I'm not yet because it's actually easier for me to hide the bloat in regular clothes. I still have bit of a tummy from DD so I'm afraid putting on maternity pants would make me look about 6 months and that would make it awfully hard to keep things quiet until we're ready to share. I may start using the Bella Band soon, and the minute we announce to everyone I'm wearing whatever I want, LOL.

  • Hi, I am not showing, but the bloat is killing me.. I already have more fat padding over my belly this time around---so I am dreading how big I might get.. I have worn 2 mat. jeans---but they are just the ones w/ a small elastic in the front..

    I also wear scrubs 3 days/week--love that...

  • no mat clothes yet, but definitely switch to yogy pants or PJs as soon as possible when I'm at home or on weekends.

  • I gained 5 pounds right before I got pregnant, and combined with the bloat, my old pants no longer fit so I broke out my maternity pants. I only go out a few times a week anyway, so I spend most of my days in PJ's and sweats!

Me too, and I just tried on a shipment of things that arrived from Old Navy yesterday. It's happening much faster this time around!
  • I started wearing my maternity jeans around 9 weeks and just this week started wearing my maternity khakis (I have to really pull in the adjusters bc they are way too big in the belly).

I use the bella band to stay in my work dress pants.

  • Sadly I never got my fat butt out of them from my twin pregnancy, but I'm excited I ordered a bunch more from Old Navy that should be coming today b/c my mat clothing last year was for winter & I need summer ones this time so for now I ordered alittle of both & will order more summer when the time comes.  I LOVE Old Navy's Mat clothing..  I noticed already that right after I eat lunch my belly I swear blows up & looks like I'm 7 months pregnant already.

  • Its crazy how much faster I'm showing this time.  I was comparing pictures from my 1st pregnancy & right now (10 wks 5 days) I look like I did when I was 19-20 wks last time!!  I am okay just wearing normal shirts (although you can see that there is something going on) but my jeans are just too tight / uncomfy so normally I been wearing yoga pants unless I need to go somewhere & look half decent then I go for the mat jeans!!  I'm glad I'm not the only one showing this early ... I even lost 5lbs!!  Crazy ...

This!  I'm glad I stay home with DS.  I would have to strip down if we were out and about!

  • I have been in my regular pants, but using a rubber band to close the button.  It gives me an inch or more.  My problem is the restriction on my tummy with m/s issues.  I have an old mat. sweater on today.  I have already been outed at school.  The secretary point blank asked me if I was expecting.  Holy floored!  I think the bloat is what is giving me away.

  • Not yet, but I sense it is coming quickly. SOOOOO bloated by the end of the day. My first pregnancy I was so eager to get into my brand spanking new maternity clothes (which was at 18 weeks-20 weeks) now I'm like "Good God I'll be in maternity pants before I hit 10 weeks!

I already dread putting on my jeans in the morning for fear they will be tight and really depress me.

The worst part is, I am living in India and all my maternity clothes are in Canada and I'm not planning to go back for a visit until May and I know I'll need them before then. Guess I'll be wearing baggy Indian kurta's and leggings...lol

  • <---- This lady.

I hauled the box out of the attic about 2 weeks ago and have been wearing either yoga pants or maternity jeans every day since.

I forgot how comfy maternity jeans are....but I also forgot about the obnoxious saggy butt that comes along with them. I've almost convinced myself to splurge on one great pair of mat jeans, since I won't be buying much else...maybe it's just the cheapie Motherhood jeans that cause saggy butt.

  • I can't wait to wear my maternity pants/jeans! This time though I'm buying those extenders to save $$ on the pants.

This. I've been in maternity pants for 2 weeks now. Still making do with mostly regular tops.

  • embarrassed to admit....but I sort of never stopped wearing my maternity jeans! They are so comfortable and I just love them.  I BF'd until DS was a year and I really had to eat to keep up my supply.  I just fit into a few pairs of my pre-pregnancy jeans for the first time about a month ago, but I never really took the maternity jeans out of the rotation.  At least now I don't have to feel guilty wearing them!
  • Not yet. Though with my first, I was in mat clothes by 8 weeks.  But I think that was because I gained weight and swelled like crazy due to the IVF meds.  this time with no meds, no weight gain (maybe 1 pound) and in my regular clothes.  however, the bloat is out of control and I may start working in a few mat items in the next week or so.  I'm still hoping to hold out until after we get our CVS results.  I'm still really paranoid this pg is going to go belly up.

  • Oh hell no. I still have a little extra room in my regular jeans since losing a couple of extra pounds before getting pg (still up 8 lbs from pre-1st pg though), which makes me feel good because I'm not a small person. I'm hoping to keep that box packed away for a good long while....plus, I'll need new stuff anyways because I'll be pg during different seasons this time around. I hate buying clothes, ugh.

  • I'm in a Be Band...that's it though. H did get out the tub of maternity clothes for me the other day--I think the shirts would still be too loose to wear though.

  • Not yet, but I do think it will happen a bit sooner this time. I have outgrown two pairs of my work pants already, but they were a little tight even pre-pregnancy.  I have already placed one Old Navy order and am thinking of doing another. I was given alot of maternity clothes the 1st time, which is great, because I still have them, but they have been through 3 pregnancies already and the pants aren't all in great shape anymore.  So this time, I am going to buy more for myself.
