*Sarah ann*

Josie had whooping cough, and thankfully if they catch it right away it really wasn't that bad.  The antibiotics really had her feeling better in a couple of days.  They'll just swab her nose, and unfortunately everyone who has had contact with her will have to have antibiotics too.  It does take a couple of days to get the test back, but usually they go ahead and put them on antibiotics right away and there's nothing else you can really do.  You will get a call from the board of health, but the guy is really nice.

  • I think we are past the early window.  She has had the cough for over a week and last night the fits were so bad her lips started changing colors and she vomits every time and then falls asleep with exhaustion.

She's been on another antibiotic for a double ear infection but from my research its not the same type they would give for whooping cough.

I was vaccinated in the hospital when I had her and Evie just got her last DTaP vaccine.  Scott is the only unprotected one.

It's so scary when she starts coughing......I just hold my breath until she stops.

  • They give the z-pac liquid.  They told us to watch out for her turning blue, so it does sound like that could be it.  It is scary--so sad to hear them gasping for breath!
