I manage a restaurant, so I'm out and about the restaurant chatting with people all of the time. People always ask me questions, how far along I am, is this my first, what is it, any names yet yadah yadah.....these questions are the norm and I have become very used to them. Although I knew it would come soon, from previous experiences with my first son, some of the questions or things they say just blow me away.
Soooo, lady asks me (mind you a woman that later on tells me about the birth of her childrem) when I'm due, I say May 6th....she seriously widens her eyes and stares dead on at my belly. Well that's an awfully big baby in there...ummmmmmm, awkward. Thankfully enough I'm not easily offended, but her reaction was sooo dramatic, I just laughed and talked about something else. Can't you just be nice lady, don't you remember what it was like being pregnant, oh that's right your an old miserable wench...hehe
Just waiting for the, are your sure there aren't twins in there chuckle from someone....ugh
Re: Was sure it would happen sooner than later....people are just clueless
Same here!
My co-worker told me yesterday that she has a hard time believing I still have 3 months to go.... Well, I have to admit my belly really popped again lately and I look pretty huge. I laughed it off, but the image of me having to go down the 6 flights of stairs of my building to go to work at 8+ month preggo is really terrifying...
I get asked all the time if I am having twins......I almost want to say, "are you implying I look fat"? They seem serious about the question too!
Everyone just tell me I am glowing and radiant and nobody gets hurt.
I get that all the time... I just smile and say "well daddy is 6'5, so yes we expect a big one"
I don't find it offensive myself
