Phoenix Babies

Central Phoenix/Scottsdale OB

Hello All,

I'm technically a newbie.  DH and I just recently found out we are expecting!!  I had my first apt on Monday.  Now normally I see a NP for my lady visits, but on this visit I med the Dr.  I have to say after this expereience I was not too impressed.  Sad  This totally bums me out.  I really do like the office, but I really am not thrilled with the Dr.

Does anyone have any suggestions for OB's in the Central Phoenix/Scottsdale area??  And how does one go about "shopping" around for an OB??  I am so confused.  This is my first time....can you tell??  Smile

  • welcome and congrats!!  I go to camelback women?s health.  We are having a good experience there.  There are several Dr. to choose from there.

  • I also go to Camelback Women's Health. I saw Dr DeSanto who I liked. He is not super over the top personable, but he is friendly and very knowledgeable.

  • I loved my OB in Central Phoenix (Thomas and 5th St.). His name is Dr. Steven Plimpton. Not only is his office really beautiful, he is such a nice, patient man. Very easy going. The best part... he does an ultrasound at EVERY appointment. It was so neat to see my little bundle and the progress he was making every month. It gave my husband and I such peace of mind.

I went into labor at 32 weeks and Dr. Plimpton was amazing. He was comforting and honest and I knew that no matter what time of day or night that I delivered he would be there. I delivered at 2:30 am and he was there with us.

The only downside is that he is very busy so i always had about 30- 40 minutes to wait before an appointment.

I can also recommend Dr. Perlow in Scottsdale. We had a late term loss a few years ago and I went to Scottsdale Healthcare / Shea because it was closest when i started contracting. Dr. Perlow was on staff and was just wonderful.

Best of luck no matter who you choose! Congratulations!

  • I also go to Camelback women's health. I see Dr. Nelson and he did a fantastic job for me throughout my pregnancy and with the delivery of my daughter last November. I loved that they had 2 locations and that I could use their patient portal to ask questions without having to call and wait on hold. Their practice allows you to choose between Scottsdale Shea and Banner Good Sam for delivery, I used Shea and was very happy with my experience.
