From my understanding, stretch marks depend on your skin quality and genetics. With that being said, I don't have any and used Mustela, bought at Destination Maternity.
ETA - I gained 60lbs, was HUGE by the last month, and had twins. My mom had 3 pg and later gained a ton of weight, and she doesn't have any stretch marks either.

Ditto, Jackie and Melissa! I just used my regular Aveeno moisturizer. I didn't get any stretch marks either. It all depends on genetics and how fast you gain weight.
If it is in your genes there is no cream out there to save you....I did not use cream and did not get any stretch marks and I was BIG (some thought I had twins). My mother was the same with all 4 pregnancies too...got her elastic skin
I went through 40 bottles of cocoa butter & am covered in stretchmarks. It's genetic. My mom has them & I do too. I'm convinced that there's nothing you can do. Oh, I gained 32lbs- which isn't a lot for my body size & considering that I had a 9 pound baby.
It's gentic for sure! I have been using Palmer's Coco Butter Formula for Stretch Marks every morning and night since I found out I was pregnant and still have stretch marks. And I've only gained 24 pounds!!! But my mom had stretch marks and Mari just mentioned her experience... I don't think anything will prevent it.

That's right! there's no miracle cream out there! But you have the right concept! Skin changes during pregnancy and keeping it well hydrated is not a bad idea!

I went through tons of cocoa butter and Mustela and Palmer's oil... and I'm covered in stretchmarks from my 1st pregnancy. My mom has tons of stretchmarks, too, from both pregnancies. It's genetics.
It can't hurt, though, right? At best, you're skin stays stretchmark free. At worse, you get stretchmarks but at least your skin will be nice and soft
I agree with all of the ladies. I think it definitely runs in your genes as to whether or not you're prone to stretch marks. ::knock on wood:: I haven't gotten any stretch marks at all, and my mom didn't have any either.
I HAVE been putting cocoa butter on my stomach though, but more so for comfort and when my stomach is hurting with the stretching!

Ditto the other girls - genetics and other factors. I didn't use anything and don't have stretch marks either.
