Anyone tried a Meetup Moms Group?

An acquaintance was telling me about her moms group, so now I'm intrigued.  If you have tried, I'm wondering about your experience.

Kids of varying ages?  Activites suited to specific age groups?  Frequency of meetups available vs. how many you actually attend?

  • I've looked around a bit on meetup.com but haven't gone to anything.  I've heard good things from some people though.

  • I?ve signed up with one but haven?t done anything because it?s all during the work day. One of my friends met her husband at a meetup group so it has to be good for meeting new people.
  • I'm a mommie meetup junkie! I belong to four mom meetups, very active in three. Are you a stay at home mom? Most of the activites (at least in the meetups I belong to) are on weekdays, although we do have some (mainly family events) on the weekend.
  • I belong to two meet up groups. I have had a great time at the three meetings I have been too.

  • Sorry, didn't actually answer your questions...

Kids of varying ages? Mostly toddlers. Activites suited to specific age groups?  We have gone to the park twice and to someones house. There have been a couple of zoo trips and Andrews Playground trips that we haven't gone to.Frequency of meetups available vs. how many you actually attend? There are usually 3-4 meet up options a month.

  • I was part of one for a little while and I didn't really like it.  They talked about inappropriate things all the time - even in front of the kids and that totally turned me off.  I only went to like three things, though, so maybe it wasn't always like that.

TTC #2 for a million years: SA normal, CD 23 bloodwork shows nothing amiss, ovulation detected. Next step: ? maybe CD3 bloodwork to check eggs? All out of pocket, so limited IF tests/treatments.
  • I belong to a few. Most of them are geared towards toddlers to 4 year olds ad SAHMs. I usually try to go to something once a week.

  • I live in Lacey, so I belong to the Olympia/Lacey Moms Meetup and I love it.

I think there's over 200 moms in it, but I know about 20 or so. All ages, newborns to toddlers, and some school age.

Right now, we do the baby play group weekly and we go to the park. There's a lot of stuff to do for toddlers, too.

I think there's about three events a week in the Oly/Lacey one. I go to one to two (I'm sure I've even done 3) a week. I really love it.
