Talk to me about IUI timeline...

DH and I decided to go ahead with IUI this next cycle.  What can I expect for the process?  I'm expecting AF this weekend, so yay!!

  • I'm not sure what you're looking for specifically and It's been a while since I've done IUIs, but let's see if I can remember...

I started stims just after AF showed. I think I did 75iu of Follistim 2x a day and went in for monitoring every few days. After I had stimmed for 9-10 days, (when the lead follie was 18-20mm), I triggered and went in 36 hours later for the procedure. It didn't take too long, but I had to lay there for about 20-30 mins.

  • Just looking for what to expect on the different cycle days.  I know I'll go in for baseline on CD 1 and will have ultrasounds to check follies.  Then trigger and IUI 36 hours later.  I'm trying to plan what days I'll have stuff going on.  I'm a major planner :)

  • Ok here is how mine went: cd3 baseline, started injectables on cd3 (Clomid I did cd 5-10), went in on cd 5 for E2 blood check, follie checks every other day until mature (for Clomid I did two follie checks, for injectables I think I had 3). Then trigger when they tell me to and 36 hours later had first IUI, 24 hours after that had 2nd IUI for our b2b cycle.

  • cd2 baseline, start stims that evening
10-12 days of stims, give or take
monitoring on cd7-trigger, every other day or every day
    PM trigger
    IUI 35 hours later (morning)
    beta 2 weeks after IUI.

    GL!

    Hey,

I am doing my first IUI this cycle as well. I totally get that you are trying to plan ahead as I was doing the same this morning. But it is really difficult to do that unfortunately. You can have a plan but it may go out the window if the ultrasound shows follicles smaller or larger than expected, changing the time line. I had my baseline today on CD3 and started 100mg clomid this afternoon. I am taking the clomid until CD7. I am going in for an u/s next Thursday which is CD10. I will probably trigger that night and do the IUI next Sat which is CD12 (I O early so that's why my timeline is so short). But this could all go out the window when I go in on CD10 if my follicles are about to burst then or are smaller than expected.  That was a long-winded way to say "The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry"  GL!!!
