another car question

Well...the search continues for a new car. I have pretty much narrowed it down to the Ford Flex and the Tahoe. I think I am heavily leaning toward the All Wheel Drive Flex. Those of you that might be in the car market anytime soon, I would suggest taking a look at the Flex. First impression....it is a toaster on wheels!!! But after really looking at how well organized it is and how much space is inside (way more than the Tahoe)...I LOVE it!

So here is the problem...it is extremely hard to find the AWD Flex with DVD (we will purchase used). While this is something that I don't anticipate we would use very often, I can imagine that it would indeed come in handy occasionally. What do you guys think...is the DVD a must have?

Re: another car question

  • Exciting!

Just a thought - you could always buy a DVD system with the screens that hook onto the headrests, especially if you don't think you will use it often.

  • You could always use a portable one or get one installed later.
  • I would get one that could be removed only because I don't want my kids watching TV on the way to Target.  DVD players should be reserved for longer car trips IMO.

  • We have the Yukon Denali XL (basically the GM version of the Tahoe) and I LURVE it.  But then again we needed the serious cargo space, since we have 3 dogs and they travel with us quite a bit.  As far as the DVD being a necessity, for us it is.  I say that because we are 7 hours away from our closest family, and we go there on average of once a month.  I would die without it.

I do agree that you can get the portable kind, and we have one of those for the other car.  Honestly, that one is a pain.  I can't reach the controls from the driver's seat, DS1 kicks it all the time, and the wires running all over are a complete mess and the thing is probably are a safety hazard.  Can we say projectile?

So I would say DVD = necessity.
