We have a Cookie Cutters near us and I'm looking online and it's $13.95. Not terrible. Do they do a decent job? If so, is there a way to get coupons for CC?
I've had 2 good cuts and 1 just so-so. I do appreciate that they can calm Jake down when he freaks out. It does seem inconsistent. I should probably find out who I like and just make appts, but I haven't been that organized. I think it's pretty pricey after tip considering I need to get Jake's hair cut every 6 weeks or so, but I haven't found a better option.
We used to go to cookie cutters and clubhouse cuts. They're ok. It's really hit or miss depending on who you get. When he turned 2 we started just taking him to Great clips or sports clips. All the commotion and distraction of the other kids just made him freak out. He prefers the "quieter" environment of the adult places. (and they charge less for kids - $10 I think)
I'm totally dreading this.....Clark could probably use a trim just for his "wings" - haha. I had a friend suggest cookie cutters. She took her two year old daughter there and she said it was great!
We've been to cookie cutters a couple times but was less than impressed and even though it's kid friendly, Zander screamed through the entire thing. We now go to Sports Clips and he does great. He's never cried there and the haircuts have been much better in my opinion, plus it's cheaper. The ladies there said its less busy mid week in the morning so that's when we go and there's usually no one else there.

If you're talking about the CC at traders point, the blonde does a pretty good job but the other girl that was there a few months ago, not so much. We actually took Nick to the Great Clips or whatever it is right next store and I think it was the best hair cut he's had. No car to sit in, but they had him sit on a booster seat and the cut was really good.
A friend said Great Clips and adult places like that are actually cheaper than Cookie Cutters. You might try looking on their sites for coupons to find the cheapest.
The first was done by Ryan's uncle, a barber. He didn't charge us and he did a great job but his shop is in Anderson. Not exactly convenient.
We took him to Cookie Cutters this past weekend and while he did get to sit in a race car and watch Thomas the Train while he was getting his haircut, I don't love it. I think she cut it a bit short, although it's straight.
While other non-kid shops may be cheaper, they don't have race car chairs or the option to watch a DVD that your child likes. If it weren't for the DVD player, Tyson would have screamed the entire time. That alone may be worth the $13.95 they charge IMO. But if you have a child that is content to sit wherever, I'd totally go to Sport Clips or let Ryan take him to Big League Barbers when he goes.
hmmm I'm torn. I don't see Andrew sitting either way so maybe based on what I'm reading here, I'll save my cash and just take him to a cheaper adult place and bring a new little car for him to hold. haha.

Sports Clips also has TVs at each station (as does Big League) and they always turn cartoons on for Zander so it might be worth a shot sometime. I originally thought the same thing because Z definitely isn't a content to sit (ever) toddler but he does great for that. They can also sit on your lap to do the cut which might be helpful if it's scary to be in the booster alone.

The car seat is the only reason I considered taking him there (and I thought they might be better with kids in general) but he really has no interest in TV. I guess I'll just pick one and see how it goes!
FWIW, Jake loves watching Elmo TV, but could have cared less about it when he was at CC. He was not happy about being there. The people there seemed to know how to distract him and work quickly.
I've been wanting to try a cheaper place, and it's good to hear that other people do. I will have to give it a try.

Zander was a fan of the car for about 45 seconds, then the screaming started and he was pissed that he was strapped in. He does much better on my lap at an adult place smiling at himself (and all the girls smiling at him) in the mirror. They always turn cartoons on for him, but he watches for about 2 minutes.

Ellie's not had her hair cut yet. I thought for sure it would straighten out once it got longer, but it just keeps curling! I need to take her in for a trim, though. It's a little on the crazy side. I don't want them to cut all the curls out of it though!

I took each of the kids to Cookie Cutters for their first haircut, but after that, I've just cut it myself.
FWIW, the cookie cutters in the Hamilton County Sports Complex (Noblesville) gave me a coupon for 'an hour of free play' in the A+ gymnastics play area. I haven't used it yet, but I have looked inside it through the door and it looks like a bunch of bounce houses. It's a $5 value.

Re: hair cuts?
I get Ella's long, luscious locks cut at the pet groomer place.
I kid, I kid!
LOL

lmao. I was noticing today she has a little but still not a lot!
