Looks like a great start! You'll find you have a lot more room if you put the bed against a wall. You'd EASILY fit a glider and changing table that way!

so the head of the bed would be facing the window? hadn't thought of that. The window has a useless window seat.
I agree with MamaDep- turn the bed so one long side is against the wall too and safe a ton more space. Or even just push it over (to the right?) so that the useless window seat can sort of be a bedside table- throw the reading light on it and you are set! BTW- if we had had a bed in Bean's room, I would have slept there most nights- fewer steps back to my bed...
I would personally put the bed where the crib is now (in that direction too), IF it fits. If not, I'd put it under the windows, with the foot of the bed towards where the crib is now. Then put the crib where the head of the bed used to be, the changer next to that (when you walk in the door), and the glider in the corner where the crib is now, angled to point towards the crib.
Of course, it's hard to tell how big walls are and how much space you actually have, so my suggestions could go right out the window!

we tried it that way first, and it just wasn't quite as much space. the crib was bigger then we thought and the wall wouldn't fit the crib and changing table.
dh went up stairs and moved the bed against the wall like you suggested, and it did open up the room a bit more. We then got into the dicussion of how nice it would be to not have the bed at all. I just can't part with the bed, so we are going to table the discussion until we clean out the garage and possibly store it there.
ha. I was the same way about my bed. It really does feel good to have a room all your own though (well, all for the baby). It was hard for me to deal with not having a private space for the guests to sleep. Now, we just blow up an air mattress inthe den. It's not as good as the actual bed, but it does the job...and makes people not want to stay for too long (*insert evil laugh here*).
In hinsight, I am glad the room is just for Faith. I wouldn't want her having to share a room nor would I want her to be kicked out of her room because of guests. At least, not at that age. It was important to me that Faith know the nursery was HER safe haven.
Have you considered a full/twin sized Day bed? (what size is that bed? I thought it was a Queen). You could slip a trundle underneath and pull it up for more guests.
The fun of living on the peninsula, it's just a two bedroom, we moved dh's desk into the dining room, it used to be in the spare room.
Our new plan, move the bed into the garage for storage, and make people sleep on the very nice aerobed we purchased. LOL I like oyur idea of not wanting people to stay too long. We are also looking into a futon, since both sets of parents are out of the area : (
Here's a pic of our tiny room with a guest bed... the drawers to her dresser only pull out enough to get stuff in and out, but we can't take them all the way out because they run into the crib. The bed is to the left and 'butted up against' the closet (you can only open the closet doors while standing next to the bed.
In any case, my point is that it will all fit in that room... BUT now that we've lived with it, no one has ever stayed in that guest bed since she came home. Instead, they sleep on a blow up bed in the office/exercise room (it's snug, but it works). We're going to get rid of the bed shortly (or store, if we can figure it out) and I'll probably get rid of the dresser, too, to get one that matches the crib. In any case, it's worth cleaning out the garage to store the bed, IMO. HTH!
I think you guys can make it work. And if you store the bed, then even better. We ended up giving away our mattress. It makes me sad - but I think I'll enjoy having a 'real' nursery...
I like! I bet you can fit it all in. Do you or your DH have access to Visio? Mine has it at work and we took measurements and he mapped it all out using that. We never thought it'd work, but with some tweaking it did.
Re: Update: Changing table/glider pictures of room
Its a work in progress right now. Looking at it again I think i can fit a changing table next to the crib, and a glider by the window.

lol it is kinda bigger then i thought..... somehow at work today, stressing over it, the room seemed smaller. can i blame this on my pregnancy brain?

I think there is plenty of room for both and, may I say, I LOVE the color of the walls! It matches the bedding so well!

Now that you know its a girl, do you have any crib bedding ideas?
