Tiffany any advice (anybody who can help is welcome)

ok so this morning I am having contractions that I am low moaning through and they are 5 min apart it's only been like this for about an hour and a half when should I go in?  What types of things might indicate that today is real?

I really don't want to leave without a baby again.

  • When I left L&D tues (for High bp, not labor)  They told me that if I start labor I should come in once the contractions were strong enough that I couldn't walk/talk thru... like they should be really painful.  I havn't been thru this yet, so I really don't know-but that is what they told me!  Good luck, I hope you have your baby!! :)

  • How far along are you? I would think that if you're due in the next week or so and they are that strong, you should go in. My dr told me that when I can't talk thru them, it was time to come in. Good luck!! Hope this is the day!

  • Mine only got "painful" when I hit about 6-7 cm. I went in when mine were 5 min. apart for a couple of hours and getting closer together even though I was just uncomfortable as opposed to in pain. I was 4cm when they checked me. I know that doesn't really help you, but just wanted to add my two cents.

  • I feel like I should warn people that contractions don't have to even be that close together or regular.  Mine were 4-20 minutes apart and I went in when they were about 9 minutes apart and was already in active labor.  I couldn't walk through them but because of the irregularity I had them for 15 hours before going in.

  • I waited until mine were 3 min apart to head in. At the point when they were every 2 min, I was only 6cm- so don't be afraid that when you get to that point, you'll be dropping a baby immediately. But go when you first get to that point, not after you've been there for a while! If you have to stop and squat and concentrate on them, and they'er 3-4 min apart, head in. (I say 3-4 min for you because you're what, 40 min away from the hospital?)

If you're walking and you have to stop and lean on your mom, that's an excellent sign. Even if you still find them 'bearable' but you can't walk while having one, go in and get checked. You might be further dilated than you think you are.
