Cheap Vacations

I'm trying to organize a weekend get away for H and I. We really need a vacation but are saving for LO so don't want to spend a ton of money. Does any have any suggestions as far as places within driving distance for a getaway? We'd be going on  a Friday and coming back on Monday.

Re: Cheap Vacations

  • Before DS, DH and I went to Hocking Hills for a weekend getaway.  We went early enough in my pregnancy that I was still able to enjoy the hiking and scenery.  It was really nice and relaxing and not expensive at all.

  • I have never heard of Hocking Hills before but I am off to Google. Thanks for the suggestion!
  • Ditto Hocking Hills. I love it. We are heading there for the 3rd time next month. We stay here: https://innatcedarfalls.com/. It's a bed and breakfast, the food is delicious and the spa is awesome. I had a prenatal massage there last spring with the windows open and the birds chirping. There are a lot of different hikes of varying lengths and difficulties.

  • We took a babymoon to Asheville, NC. It was great! We stayed in a cozy B&B, toured the Biltmore, ate some yummy food and did some very light hiking. I'd recommend it for a low-key weekend.
  • Hocking Hills, Brown County IN, Nashville, Niagara Falls, Frankenmuth MI, Asheville NC Biltmore
