I don't know what to do to get LO to drink milk. He is allergic to cow's milk so we started him on soy milk right around his birthday. Things were going great. He was still nursing and I had a freezer stash that I mixed with soy to get him used to it. We stopped BF about 2 weeks ago and no longer have any frozen BM. He will not drink any milk. We have tried soy vanilla, chocolate, plain and almond milk. I am a loss on what to do. He drinks plenty of water but nothing else. We have tried different cups too but that didn't work.
We have Dr appt tomorrow for his 15 mo and see what dr thinks but thought maybe someone has similiar experience or advise.
Re: LO will not drink milk
Ask your doctor about goat's milk. K has problems with cow's milk and we were told to try goat's milk, she liked it where she wouldn't touch soy or rice milk. Is it a dairy allergy or lactose intolerance? K is 3 and can now tolerate lactose free milk. Either one could be options if it is more an intolerance than an allergy.
If those options don't work, keep offering the others, try rice milk first, mix a little of reduced sugar chocolate milk syrup. 2 of my dk's would drink that if we were out of regular milk, they're not fond of the soy...L says it takes getting used to. GL!
