Parenting after 35

mamas of finicky eaters, come on in

ARGH!  My kid will not eat.  Its so frustrating because she's tiny as it is, (8% for weight at her 15 month checkup).  Pedi is not worried, because she's super active and pedi says she's "wild and woolly and burning it all off".  I agree, and that's fine, WHEN she eats.  But right now she's going through a phase where she won't eat anything.  I mean anything.

DH just called, concerned because he couldn't get anything in her for lunch.  She's getting her fangs, top and bottom so maybe that's it.  I guess my question is how long do I let this go on before I get really worried and/or call the pedi?  Its been the last day or two that she's really not eaten much at all.  She'll drink milk but not much else (we still do 50% formula since she's so tiny, pedi agrees with this).  TIA

  • Try pouch food, it's all S wants to eat these days with his molars coming in.

  • While Ellie is generally a good eater, she has her days.  And she was having a lot of those days around her 12 month appt.  Our pedi said not to worry about it by day, but look at what she's getting in a week.  She also said not to worry too much because even though it might not always seem like it, they will not starve themselves.  When Ellie's been teething, yogurt is good, and she will eat almost anything that has been dipped in yogurt then.  And frozen blueberries - not a neat option, but she loves frozen fruit when her teeth are sore.  GL!
