Babies: 0 - 3 Months

If your baby is awake..

and you're not holding them, what are they sitting in?

If I'm sitting doing something, I will prop him up in my Boppy nursing pillow (which I know you're not supposed to do but he hates laying down if he's awake) but when I'm standing I dont really know where to leave him. If I'm going from room to room I want something small enough that I can just pick him and carry him, but right now he's in his swing and I dont know where else to put him and hate leaving him if I'm walking aroung to clean all the other rooms.

  • Bouncer seat moves room to room well. Otherwise DD spent time in her swing.

  • He's in the bouncy seat, but I can't just leave him in it to clean or something because he gets upset if I'm not rocking it (I'm bouncing it with my foot right now, ha). I have to wear him in order get anything done.

  • Meh, I put him in the boppy too as long as he's basically within arms reach.  Mostly I put him in his swing/bouncer seat.  We have a small one that's great because I can easily move it to whatever area of the house I'm in.

  • Play mat (but your LO is a little young to be occupied by that).  When DS was your LO's age, it was always the swing or I was wearing him.

  • My little guy is either in his swing, bouncer, or on the floor. He loves tummy time.

  • My mom taught me the best trick ever - use the car seat! And turns out DS LOVES it! I can carry it from room to room, he can go in it when I'm in the shower, works like a charm and I can even rock it!

Or, I use the Bouncer. He's in that right now as I fold clothes. Although while bouncing it w/my foot he fell asleep :)

I sometimes use my Ergo but I can't bend over in it w/o worrying he will fall out - so I don't use it as much.

  • i use her boppy too, or bouncy seat, or swing. i wear her in my moby wrap if i have stuff to do from room to room.

  • I like to use the Rock N' Play sleeper or the Moby wrap.

I use the bouncy seat, too.  Mine vibrates which usually puts DD to sleep.

  • It's daddy time... she's laying on the changing table while he's overstimulating her.

  • I wear her in the Moby.  Otherwise she's in her swing or on her reflux wedge.

  • He is in love with his swing and we have an open concept living area/kitchen/dining room so I can get most cleaning done this way.  If I am upstairs I am either wearing him or he's in his bouncy seat.
  • If Im sitting with him I will prop him up in his boppy.  If I am busy cleaning or doing things then he goes in his vibrating bouncy chair.

  • The 5-10 minutes he's awake before nap time, he's either held or on the floor. We put him in his crib awake after a certain length of time. At 2 weeks old, that length was about 45 minutes of awake time, which was completely taken up by eating and diapering and falling back asleep.

So, at 2 weeks old, there really probably isnt a time of day where they are awake and not eating...

  • I used the newborn boppy lounger all the time. I could move it from room to room without taking him out of it (which of course you're not supposed to do, but I promise I was careful!). It worked great and he loved it. Took naps in it too (supervised of course).

I do that too. It seems like he hates laying flat sometimes.

  • I leave her in the boppy too.I think it's okay for now. Until she starts moving around more then it'll be a problem. I actually haven't been leaving her in there much because of that issue. She scoot up now if she's upset, so she'll scoot and scoot and then she's halfway hanging off. So yeah... not much anymore, but when she was littler I left her laying in/on a lot.

Now it's more the swing, or Daddy if he's home.
