those who have had membranes stripped....

how far dilated were you?  Do you know how dilated you need to be for them to do this?

    I had my membranes stripped last Thursday and I was 3 cm dilated, 80% effaced and baby was stationed at -1 almost 0.  I'm not sure exactly how far you have to be dilated to have it done.

     I was so bummed it didn't work for me, I am having it done again tomorrow

    I'm not sure.  I turned them down because I figure baby will come when he/she is ready and the doctor said that usually stripping the membranes doesn't do anything anyways.

    I was almost 3 cm when my doc did it last week. I'm still pregnant, so it didn't work but I think I'll have her do it again today, it's worth a try!

    I think I remember that Lilleybug's OB did it when she was 1 cm without her even knowing or telling her. I haven't had it done, but thats what I seem to remember...

    I had it done last Tuesday 2/1. I was 2 cm and had some cramping but no baby. I had it again this past Monday 2/7 at my 40 week appointment. I was 4cm. I don't know if the first one helped with the dilation or not. But here I am two days later with no baby. I guess it doesn't really work for me. I have been losing my MP for the past two days so I guess that is some sort of progress.

    I asked to get it done at my appt yesterday - I was 4 cm/80% effaced but they wont do it unless I'm past 38w5d at my practice so they said they would next week if I'm there for my appt.

    At my appt today, my OB said that she could strip mine if I was at least 2 cm dilated. I'm only about 1 cm so she didn't do it, since it won't help things along if they weren't already started. Fine with me, I figure this baby is camping out til they evict him/her!  I'll be induced if baby hasn't come by 8 days past my due date. 

    ETA: I'm not effaced. At. All. My OB said she hasn't seen a cervix as long and closed as mine, at 39 1/2 weeks, in a very long time!
