Anyone use gym childcare at a YMCA?
I am just terrified of leaving DD with anyone, but I feel like gym daycare might be a good place to start and there's the fact that I could stand to work out. We belong to the Y so I'm wondering if you have used their gym childcare which one did you go to and how was it? If you could also tell me about it -- like what the child to childcare provider ratio was, what the childcare room as like, how much your child loved it, I'd also appreciate that. Thanks! I desperately need to get over this fear of leaving DD.

We go to the Y in Abingdon and have been pleased with their childcare. DD doesn't go to daycare, so it took a few visits for her to be comfortable with strangers, but she likes it now. They are run similar to any other daycare- I think the limit is 15 kids with no more than 3 under the age of 2 and there is usually 3 adults there- I'm not sure what their specific ratio is though. If they are at capacity you have to put your name on the waiting list and hang around, and they will call you when someone leaves. This isn't really an issue for us since DD is 3 now, but there are sometimes when the infants are at capacity- usually when group fitness classes are in session- so if you plan to do a class get there early.
The room is set up like any other daycare/preschool room. They have a few tables for coloring/table toys and then areas for trains/cars, kitchen and babies and other larger toys. They also have a corner set up just for the babies with a crib, exersaucer, bouncy seat, etc with a gate to keep the older kids out and keep crawling babies in. Since their licensing is different than a regular daycare, a parent must be on the premises at all times and they cannot change dirty diapers- they will call you to come change them (or in my case, to come take DD potty).
