Surely, in the 30's -50's he got snickered at too- maybe just in 'old boys club'/behind his back... but I don't think the term balls is relatively that new, right?

lol..a local photographer's name is Harry Dong. He shot all of our prom and HS pictures. We all thought his name was funny back then.

It seems they could compromise and make it the H.W. Baals building or something along those lines.

Not that this will impress or amuse anyone other than myself but I threw W in there randomly and thought that I should Google Mr. Baals and put in his real initial (since I know many of the regulars are sticklers for accuracy) and it IS W. I think the H.W. Baals building sounds pretty solid.

I like this idea. Plus, if they can rename the Sears Tower the Willis Tower (big black willie as a nn), then I don't see why they can't have a Baals building.

Ha! I knew what this post was about before I opened it. The building they're naming is in my city...they had a poll going to see what the locals wanted to name it. You better believe I voted for the Harry Baals Government Center! It was too funny to pass up.
