TTC After a Loss

Is FWP every other day better than every day?

And if so, why?  DH would happily FWP (or Fw/oP) every day or more if I let him.  Should I be limiting him to EOD while TTC?

Re: Is FWP every other day better than every day?

  • From what I know it depends on your DH's little men.  If you know his SA (sperm analysis) is normal then every 24 is just fine... otherwise EOD gives his troops a chance to rebuild prior to deployment.

    Yeehaw!

  • They say it is better to EOD for better sperm counts from what I understand.

  • I really think that every other day is more than sufficient, my OB says this anyway.  Plus, I am temping, checking CM and CP, so I think that with all of those "powers" combined, we should be good to go.  I feel like if we did it every day for 10 days in a row that I would:

    1. get worn out

    2. get sore!

    3. lose the passion and feel like it's more of a job

To each her own though, some couples have the stamina of the energizer bunny!

    THIS.

ASSUMING your DH's swimmers are fine and ASSUMING you both are up (no pun intended) for it, every day is just fine.

  • I agree with pp - you can do it every day as long as YH's count is good.  For the last 3 cycles we've been FWP every day for a week during O cycle, but with no BFP.  It is a good way to lose the romantic aspect of the process (and get sore) - so I think we'll just try EOD this time around and see what happens.  GL!

I don't think I could do it every day, lol.  I would get WAY too worn out.  DH would love it though, the little hornball.  I don't *think* there is anything wrong with his swimmers, but it's never been checked.  I was going to aim for every day from CD 9 - OPK time, which in theory would be 6 days (?).  I don't know if I can even pull that off though!

  • I dont think it matters most of the time. We got pregnant the first time by only having sex one time the week that I ovulated. We were trying but due to being out of town that was all we could do. We were not even going to count that month as "trying" because of that.

The second time we had sex twice a day for three days and once a day for the next three and got pregnant. I guess it all boils down to luck.

  • I've read/been told various things, including the every-other-day plan so that he can replenish. We've tried a variety of strategies. So, this month we went a little crazy. Twice every day for 7 days prior to ovulation, and every other day other than that just in case FF is wrong. I'll let you know in little over a week if this strategy worked!

DH deserves an award this month!
