XP: DD must be abnormal

Thought I'd ask here too..

She doesn't put things in her mouth. We've been trying puffs lately and while she eats them just fine, she doesn't put them in her mouth. She'll grab MY hand and pull my hand towards her open mouth so I can feed her, but she won't do it herself. Isn't that kind of odd that the only thing she puts in her mouth is a paci (which is gone now) and her fingers? No food, no blankets, no toys... nothing.

Re: XP: DD must be abnormal

  • I wouldn't be worried, because it sounds like your DD knows what's going on and isn't developmentally delayed.

I would still mention it to the pedi though because exploring objects with the mouth is supposed to be important.

  • There was a woman working at a store I was at and she noticed DD was putting everything in her mouth and we started talking and she mentioned how with one of her kids (she had 2 I think) the baby wouldn't put anything in their mouth so I guess you're not the only one! lol
