My husband and I have a hard time deciding which names we BOTH like. We have 8 nieces and nephews between the two of us. The ones on his side have more traditional names like Katie and Bradley; and my sister has a daighter named Brelynn and two sons named Houston and Wyatt. I'm a fan of the less traditional names.. However, we both like the name Lyla Mackenzie for a girl; but I'm not sure which one we should call her.. Any ideas??
Re: What do you think?
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

Can I vote for Lyla Brooke? I'm not a fan of McNames.

Definitely call her Lyla. Mackenzie is incredibly trendy, cutesy and IMO, just not that pretty. And there's no reason to call her by her MN. Whichever name you choose to call her, make that her FN.
Oh, and I prefer the spelling Lila.
I too prefer Lila. And if that is going to be her first name, call her by that or if you want to call her Makenzie, give her that as a first name. I don't like the "I go by my middle name" trend either unless it is for a specific purpose.
