St. Joseph?s in St. Paul

Looking into this hospital because they have Midwives. Can anyone share positive and/or negative feedback about this hospital?
Were you satisfied with the care?

Did anyone else use a Midwife through Generations in Shoreview/St. Josephs in St. Paul?

Re: St. Joseph?s in St. Paul

  • I delivered both girls there with my family doctor and have friends who have used the midwives. I had a great experience both times and wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else.

  • I delivered both my girls there and loved it. All the nurses were awesome (with the exception of one very crabby one). I also love how quiet the L&D floor is, both times when I delivered there wasn't more than 3 or 4 other people having their babies. Plus their hospital food is really good : ) lol
  • I delivered there in September and loved it.  I saw the midwives at the St. Paul (Grand Avenue) clinic.  The midwife was great, nurses were all wonderful and the food, while not great, was better than I expected.  The maternity floor is very, very calm, the nurses and midwives were really helpful getting me started in BFing, they respected my birth plan, and I got to have a water birth.  I really cannot say enough good things about it (other than that the hospital itself is not all that fancy or new, but it works).  If I get pregnant again, I will, without question, go back there.

I go here as well and plan to deliver at St. Joe's. I was impressed when we took the tour- the maternity floor is much nicer than expected.
