coming out of lurking!!

Hello ladies,

 Wanted to come out of lurking and introduce myself.  I was diagnose with blocked tubes and DH with low SA.  DH is on medication and his SA is definitely improving.  We are looking at IVF but unfortunately our insurance does not cover IVF.  Our first appointment with a RE is March 15 and we will know where to go from there.

Can you ladies help me with questions we should be asking?  I am compling a list of questions and wanted to cover what I need to know especially for the first time visit.

    Welcome to the board.

    Has your DH seen a uro? Sometimes there can be issues that a uro can diagnose that can help improve SA.

    I don't know anything about blocked tubes, sorry.

    Hi :)  We're also dealing with MFI and are totally OOP.  Questions I asked at our first meeting were:

    Are we good canidates for IVF?  Have we overlooked a less invasive procedure?  What are the success rates for our dx?  What tests will we need before getting started?  Will we require a special service? (ICSI, assisted hatching, etc.) When we will be able to start?  Basic cycle timeline?  Will you be my exclusive doctor or will I see others in the practice?

    IVF 2 October 2011 - BFP!

    What re are you going to? A lot of the Bama girls go to ART program of AL, including me.

    We are waiting to see our RE and go from there.  Did not know about the uro, will look into that.

    What is MFI and OOP?  Thanks for the questions, so glad to have the help of others.  You guys make it feel better to know it is not the end of the world and I am not alone.

    Welcome to the board. There are several AL ladies on the board. Which clinic are you going to?

    MFI is male factor infertility and OOP is out of pocket.

    After 3 years of infertility we were blessed with twin girls through private infant adoption.

    I used to cut his hair in the salon...  That is why I couldn't go to him... haha!
