Pregnant after IF

Nesting...does everyone get the nesting bug?

Because I'm in serious need.  Like really, really serious need.  I have so much stuff to do before this baby arrives.  I haven't even STARTED on the baby's room yet.  And the rest of the house needs a complete going-through and cleaning out.  I need nesting to kick in NOW!!  When does it kick in?

Re: Nesting...does everyone get the nesting bug?

  • lol, I think everyone is different.  I went into major nesting mode around 15 weeks and haven't stopped.  I actually wish I could turn it off sometimes because it is just too much.  You will get it all done though, I know it.

  • lol The only reason I have the nesting thing going is because I am on bed rest and I can see the dust accumulate from where I lay/sit...
  • I really starting nesting around 15 weeks and went on a cleaning rampage in my house, mostly clearing out closets, etc. Our office is becoming the nursery so we have completely cleared that out. It's a great feeling to get rid of things only to bring in new things for the baby :)

Sometimes I feel like I'm getting way ahead of myself, but hey, I'm a planner :)

  • If we're talking about cleaning in general, then I've been nesting for about 2 years...

  • I'm so jealous of you early nesters!!  I mean, I do the regular cleaning (hate every second of it) but I'm still waiting for the hard core cleaning to happen :)

  • I did some nesting around 29/30 weeks, but it has since then, disappeared! I need it to come back, bc like you, I have lots to do and my time is running out! 6 weeks seems like a lot, but I know it will go by quickly.

  • I think it's starting to kick in for me a little now, but most of the things we've accomplished so far have really just gotten finished because I know they have to (not b/c I was bitten by the nesting bug). My sister told me the other day that she sees me as one of those ladies @ 9 months along, crawling around on her hands and knees to capture any stray "dust bunnies." Yeah - we'll see about that!

  • LOL! I'm to tired to nest.  My idea of nesting is giving DH a list of things to do :)  Although, I did wash and fold all the baby clothes and sat in the glider while I told DH where to put everything.  He's being really great!

  • I haven't done squat except buy a lot of cloth diapers.  Eek.  I'm not much of a clean-er.  :)
