rec'o your lightweight/umbrella stroller

Instead of lugging our Maclaren twin or risking damage to our new Joovy Ultralight, we've decided to take two single strollers on our trip to Disney in May, so that we have maximum flexibility.

We have a Maclaren Quest for Maggie, but need something light, easy to fold, good canopy, and preferably one that reclines for Owen to use. Also it would be great if it came in well under $100 since it won't be an every day stroller and it will likely get tossed around on the airplane.

Anyone have any good recommendations for me?

  • We have this stroller and I like it.  We took it with us last summer when we flew to Myrtle Beach and it worked great.

  • We have this style of the Graco Ipo. We take it almost everywhere. It's nice that it [almost] fully reclines. J has taken many naps in this stroller.

We also have this one. I like it, but have never taken it on a plane or trip (unless the mall during Christmas shopping counts). I also have no basis for comparison, since I've never owned one other than this one. I'm a lot of help, huh? :)

  • I also have the Chicco one.  I don't remember it reclining much though.  My H always complains that the stroller was made for shorter people to push because the handles are so low.

We used this stroller with Katie and loved it. Too bad I sold it at the last twins sale or I would have given it to you - just like the beach tent :)

The tent! Let me know when you want to meet up, I know the babies are sick this week.

  • It's not under $100 but I love my Maclaren Mod Sport. Can't wait to start using it again for DS this spring.

  • Zulily has this stroller on sale from One Step Ahead. Looks decent and at that price I wouldn't mind if it got destroyed during travel or stolen at Disney.

  • Another vote for the Graco Ipo!

We have this one...Noah hates it!  It doesn't sit up straight enough for him, but when he was younger it didn't bother him, we actually just bought a City Mini to replace it.  I can sell it to you!

  • We have a Graco Mosaic, similar to the Ipo, but side to side we liked the Mosaic better.  We bought it at BRU and love it.  It was around the $100 range.  I actually bought it for our trip to Florida and Disney last year!  I love the height on it, the handles are comfortable, it has a parent cup holder, reclines, folds up like an umbrella stroller, and has a decent basket.
